DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) – Marqueis Gray, 12, was shot in the chest back in November by a friend playing with a gun.
The corner’s jury ruled the death as accidental.
Nicole Kroncke, from the States Attorney’s Office, says although the shooting was ruled as accidental, 20-year-old Avante Flesch recklessly caused Gray’s death.
Flesch is charged with involuntary manslaughter, possession of a weapon as a felon and aggravated unlawful use of a weapon.
Flesch is scheduled to be in court on Dec. 19Â for a preliminary hearing.
