DANVILLE, Ill. (WAND) —Earlier this evening, WAND News reported that the Illinois State Police had shut down a portion of Interstate 74 westbound in Danville. We now know one person was pronounced dead on the scene.
Illinois State Police report that a crash has shut down a portion of Interstate 74 westbound in Danville. Traffic is being detoured at Lynch Road near the Indiana State Line. The road will be shutdown as State Police continue their investigation. Traffic is being diverted onto Lynch Road, or milepost 219.
Drivers should use caution when traveling through the area.
