MAROA, Ill. (WAND) - Police were called out for a crash involving a spill on Route 51 in Maroa Monday morning.

The Maroa Police Department posted to Facebook around 8 a.m. asking people to avoid the area.

The Maroa Fire Department was called at 7 a.m. for a vehicle versus semi crash. No one was injured, but there was an oil spill plus several tires from the box truck.

Traffic going south was rerouted around Lake Fork Road and went through Maroa to get back on 51.

If drivers use Wood Street as an alternative route, police are reminding them the speed limit through town is 30 miles per hour.
