DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - One person was injured after being stabbed in the neck in Decatur Thursday night.

The Decatur Police Department told WAND News the stabbing happened near Orlando Apartments on South Water Street.

That is across the street from the Macon County Sheriff's Office building. 

Decatur police told WAND News Friday that 21-year-old Morgan Beck was arrested and is facing attempted murder charges. 

DPD emphasized that this was a targeted, not random, attack, as the victim and suspect knew each other. 

Additionally, police said that the victim's injuries are not life-threatening and are expected to recover.
