COLES COUNTY, Ill. (WAND) - A 16-year-old is dead and another juvenile was hospitalized after a crash in Coles County on Monday morning.
The Coles County Sheriff's Department said the 16-year-old and the juvenile passenger were headed east on county road 1200 North when the vehicle left the road and overturned, landing upside down in a field.
The 16-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene, and the other individual was taken to Carle Foundation Hospital.
The county coroner hasn't released any names.
The Coles County Coroner’s Office and the Coles County Sheriff’s Office are investigating.
