SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WAND) - Three people who were shot dead at a home Thursday afternoon in Springfield have been identified.
According to a Sangamon County spokesperson, Sangamon County Sheriff's Deputies were called just after 2:30 p.m. to a home in the 3000 block of Hoover Avenue for a report of a shooting.
Police found 22-year-old Mhynesha Day, 21-year-old Devione Brady and 9-year-old Cash Russell, as identified by the Sangamon County Coroner, dead inside the home.
Sangamon County detectives spotted a red SUV in the area at the time of the shooting.
Officers found a vehicle matching the SUV's description in the area of Governor and MacArthur in Springfield. Two women inside the vehicle were released at the scene, and the SUV was towed.
Police are still searching for the shooter.
