TAYLORVILLE, Ill. (WAND) — A moment of silence is planned during halftime of the next Taylorville High School football game for the three juveniles who died in a Taylorville crash Tuesday morning.
In an email sent to parents, the Taylorville School District said a moment of silence will be held on Friday, October 10 during halftime of the Homecoming football game.
Participants are encouraged to turn on their flashlights in place of candles.
"Our hearts remain heavy following the tragic loss of student lives earlier this week," the email said. "We know that this sorrow is felt throughout our school halls and across our entire town, and we continue to hold the affected families in our thoughts as they navigate this immense tragedy."
The game kickoff is set for 7 p.m., with halftime typically starting around 8 p.m.
