SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WAND) — The Springfield Police Department has concluded its internal investigation after a sergeant was arrested for driving under the influence on Chatham last month.
Sgt. Lindzee Carpenter was arrested by Chatham police on July 4. The city of Springfield said she was immediately stripped of her police powers and placed on administrative leave.
According to the department's transparency page, Carpenter has been reassigned to the rank of patrol officer and is serving a 30-day suspension. She will also serve a 12 month probationary period.
