PINKSTAFF, Ill. (WAND) — One person is dead and two more were hospitalized after a side-by-side crashed into an ambulance responding to an emergency in Lawrence County.
The crash happened at the intersection of Gadd Road and Bee Branch Lane, east of Pinkstaff. Illinois State Police said an ambulance was responding to a call on Sunday, August 2 just before 3:30 p.m. when a side-by-side ran a stop sign and crashed into the ambulance.
According to ISP, the driver of the side-by-side was pronounced dead at the scene. Two passengers of the side-by-side and the ambulance crew were taken to the hospital.
