DANVILLE, Ill. (WAND) — The Illinois State Police is investigating allegations of official misconduct and bribery involving Vermilion Advantage, county elected officials and the Vermilion County Board.

In a news release Wednesday, Vermilion County State's Attorney Jacqueline Lacy said her office received information about the allegations and referred it to ISP's special investigations unit.

This ISP unit handles various criminal investigations, the release said, including allegations of criminal wrongdoing by elected officials or government appointees.

WAND News reached out to the state's attorney's office and ISP for more information on the nature of the allegations and the parties involved.

Both declined to provide more information due to the open and ongoing investigation.

WAND News also reached out to Vermilion Advantage and the Vermilion County Board Chairman Steve Miller.

The person who answered the phone at Vermilion Advantage declined to comment. Miller did not immediately respond.

This is a developing story. Updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
