CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WAND) — Champaign police responded to reports of a "large fight" on the 300 block of North Neil Street at 12:35 a.m. Sunday morning.

According to a statement from the Champaign Police Department, they sent all available units after a 911 caller indicated there were hundreds of people fighting in and around a nearby business.

The caller hung up without giving more details.

When officers arrived, they found an "unruly crowd" with open alcohol, but there was no active fighting. Many officers were quickly cleared from the scene when they realized the situation was not as severe as the caller suggested.

Nobody was hurt and no arrests were made, and the crowd was quickly broken up within 15 minutes.
