CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WAND) - The Champaign Police Department is seeking the community's assistance in investigating a bank robbery. 

Champaign police said that officers were called after 11 a.m. Sept. 24 for a report of a bank robbery at the Clock Tower Community Bank on 1001 S. Neil Street in Champaign.

CPD had previously learned that the suspect, later identified as 34-year-old Dekimbay Johnson, had damaged security glass while demanding money and threatening workers. The suspect eventually ran off with an undisclosed amount of money.

No injuries were reported, and Champaign police said that there was no evidence of a gun being used at any point. 

This investigation is ongoing.
