CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WAND) - The Champaign Police Department is asking for the public's help in investigating a bank robbery.

Champaign police said in a press release that officers were called around 3:15 p.m. Friday along S. Neil Street for a reported bank robbery.

CPD learned that the suspect demanded money while threatening workers. The suspect eventually ran off with an undisclosed amount of money.

No injuries were reported, and Champaign police said that there was no evidence of a weapon being used at any point. 

CPD urges any businesses or homes in the area with outdoor surveillance cameras to contact police. 

This investigation is ongoing.
