Danville man sentenced for raping minor

DANVILLE, Ill. (WAND) - A Danville man has been sentenced for raping a minor in 2023.

On April 2, Brian Torres pleaded guilty to predatory criminal sexual assault.

Evidence was presented that the Danville Police Department responded to OSF Sacred Heart Medical Center in Danville for a report of predatory criminal sexual assault of a minor. The minor reported being raped by Torres on February 8, 2023.

Torres was sentenced on June 12 to 20 years in prison. He had a previous conviction for Aggravated Battery Causing Great Bodily Harm.

The sentence will be served at 85% and will be followed by a term of 3 years to natural life of mandatory supervised release, to be determined by the Prison Review Board. Torres is classified as a sexual predator, requiring lifetime sex

offender registration.
