BEARDSTOWN, Ill. (WAND) -- A Jacksonville man is behind bars accused of murder.
Illinois State Police said, 45-year-old Benchy Couloute was arrested in Indiana.Â
He is accused of killing 37-year-old Junior Kalnoji of Beardstown.Â
ISP said, it happened Monday March 24th near State Street and 12th Street.Â
Beardstown police found Kalnoji dead in the home.Â
After an investigation, the case was presented to the Cass County State's Attorney's Office, and an arrest warrant was issued for Couloute.
During the investigation, it was determined Couloute fled to the state of Indiana. Indiana State Police located and arrested Couloute, in conjunction with ISP special agents.

Couloute is being held at the Marion County, Indiana Sheriff’s Office pending extradition.
