CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WAND) - A Champaign County jury convicted a Calumet City man for his role in a February shooting in Champaign.
On Thursday, the jury convicted 32-year-old Allen Williams of shooting and seriously injuring a 34-year-old Champaign man.
According to Champaign Police, on February 19 officers were called to the 700 block of W. Vine Street for a report of a shooting with injuries.
After officers arrived, they learned a victim had arrived at a local hospital by personal transport. Police said the 34-year-old victim was treated for multiple gunshot wounds and later released.
Police said Williams approached a vehicle the victim was in and opened fire. He then ran away.
