CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WAND) - A Champaign man who pleaded guilty to arson at a church will serve 10 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections. 

According to Champaign County court records, Dalton Whitlock will receive credit for 209 days previously served. 

Whitlock pleaded guilty to arson to a place of worship in May. 

The arson happened in November 2025 at a church on Bloomington Road in Champaign.

That fire caused thousands of dollars in damage to the building.
