ALTAMONT, Ill. (WAND) — The Effingham County Sheriff's Office found almost $100,000 of stolen property while serving a warrant in Altamont, Thursday afternoon.Â
As a result of executing the warrant 40-year-old Cody J. Sapp and 50-year-old Heather M. Lindemann were arrested at their home around 1:45 p.m.
According to police, the $100,000 worth of stolen items they recovered had been reported missing earlier this year.Â
Sapp and Lindemann were charged with meth trafficking and possession between 100 and 400 grams, possession of stolen property, animal neglect and between $500 and $10,000 of criminal damage to property.Â
The investigation is still ongoing and police say they expect more criminal charges.Â
