DANVILLE, Ill. (WAND) - A homicide investigation is now underway after police found a dead body in a Danville home on Monday.
Danville Police Officers responded to a call of a dead body found in a home located in the 700 block of Sherman St. around noon.
Officers arrived, locating a body, and immediately initiated a crime scene investigation.
After further investigation, the Vermilion County coroner's office identified the deceased as 41-year-old Monty E. Peplow of Danville.
An autopsy for Peplow has been scheduled for Tuesday as part of the investigation, which is being considered a homicide.
The Danville Police Department is currently questioning a person of interest regarding the incident. They do not believe there is any further threat to the community.
