FRANKFORT, Ill. (WAND) — A man from the Chicago suburbs was arrested Wednesday after police said he made threats against Governor JB Pritzker.
According to Illinois State Police, 71-year-old Timothy J. Shemitis of Frankfort was arrested after leaving voicemail threats to the governor's office.
ISP said officers were notified of the voicemail threats on March 3. After investigation, a warrant was issued on Tuesday.
Shemitis was arrested on one count of threatening a public official and one count of harassment by telephone.
