Millikin men's coach Soderberg departs Big Blue for Maryville University job

DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - Millikin men's basketball coach Kramer Soderberg will leave the program to take the head coaching job at Maryville University in St. Louis.

Soderberg had been with the program since 2015, including being promoted to head coach in '21.

MU said that Soderberg led the program to a 59-67 record and the program's first CCIW tournament appearance in school history.

"Over the last five years, I’ve tried to build this program the right way, and although there is still more work to be done, I believe we have laid a foundation that will last! It’s hard to say goodbye to this school, this community, and most especially the people … but, Millikin University will forever be at the root of my coaching journey, and I will be forever grateful for that!" Soderberg said in a statement.

Assistant coach Mack Snyder will serve as Millikin's interim head coach until a permanent replacement is named.
