DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) — One person was rescued from an early morning house fire in Decatur Wednesday.

The Decatur Fire Department responded to a home near the intersection of East William Street and North 25th Street just after 4:30 a.m. for reports of a home on fire.

When they arrived, firefighters were told by a girl living in the home that her father was still inside. Crews quickly found and rescued him.

According to the department, crews quickly put out the fire, limiting damage to the house.

The man that was rescued was treated on scene by paramedics and declined further treatment. 

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
