SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WAND) - A 23-year-old man from Springfield was arrested on Monday for the murder of a Christian County teenager.

According to the Sangamon County Sheriff's Office, on April 7, officers were called to the 800 block of West Lenox for a report of gunshots.

Upon their arrival at the scene, they found 19-year-old Camren White suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was rushed to the hospital, where he later died.

Following further investigation, authorities issued an arrest warrant for 23-year-old Justin L. Pickrell, charging him with first-degree murder and possession of a weapon by a felon.

Pickrell was arrested on April 14 after a traffic crash in Springfield. He sustained an injury and was taken to a local hospital.
