URBANA, Ill. (WAND) — A 54-year-old woman is in the hospital after being stabbed Sunday in Urbana.
The Champaign County Sheriff's Office said deputies were called out to a home on Gurth Drive around 8 p.m.
When they arrived, deputies found a woman who had been stabbed "during a domestic dispute involving her husband" 51-year-old Rafael Magdaleno-Mendoza.
The victim was taken to the hospital, where she's listed in stable condition, according to the sheriff's office.
Magdaleno-Mendoza was taken into custody at the scene on preliminary charges of attempted murder, aggravated battery, and aggravated domestic battery.
He'll be arraigned in court Monday afternoon.
