CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WAND) - One man is dead following a late afternoon shooting in Champaign on Friday. 

The City of Champaign said that police responded just before 5:30 p.m. to the 500 block of East Columbia Avenue after getting a report of a shooting with injuries. 

Police said that a 33-year-old man was found shot in a nearby alley. He was taken to the hospital, where he later died. 

No arrests have been made at this time.

This marked the second shooting in Champaign this week. An 18-year-old was shot near the Schnucks along North Marris Avenue Tuesday night.
