DECATUR - Decatur officials say they are kicking off its official series of "Neighborhood Walks/Gatherings" on August 20, 2015.

The first neighborhood walk will be held in the Hess Park neighborhood beginning at 5:30 p.m.  Additional events will be held in Park City Mobile Home Park, Fairlawn Neighborhood, and GM Square throughout September and October.

Officials say the purpose of the events is to encourage a stronger bond between the City and residents, to provide and encourage direct interaction, and to gain input on successes and concerns within these neighborhoods.  For more information, call (217) 424-2727.
