DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) — Two people were hurt after a shooting early Saturday morning in Decatur.

Decatur Police say, they were called to Decatur Memorial Hospital around 12:30 am Saturday after a 20 year old man arrived at the hospital with a gunshot wound.

Moments later, police were called to the 1000 block of East Main Street for a another gunshot victim.

When police arrived they found a 17 year old male who had been shot in the head. He was taken to Decatur Memorial Hospital and his injuries are considered life-threatening.

Police say, the two were together in the 1000 block of East Main Street before being shot.

Police searched the area and found multiple shell casings.

In a statement, police say, "The Decatur Police Department is saddened by yet another incident of senseless gun violence that has occured within our community."
