DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - Decatur Township Supervisor Lisa Marie Stanley has passed away.

Stanley's accomplishments were lauded by Andy Manar and the Boys and Girls Club of Decatur on Facebook.

"You fought for justice, for equality, for what's right and against what's wrong," Manar posted. "You spoke up for those without voices and demanded that those with voices listen."

He continued, "You have fought the good fight. You have finished this race, and you have kept the faith. On this day, you deserve our thanks and peaceful rest."

The Boys and Girls Club said in a statement on Facebook:

"Today we mourn the loss of our beloved and former board member, Lisa Stanley. Lisa served on The Boys & Girls Club of Decatur Board of Directors from 2016-2021, but her impact is still with us. Her leadership not only guided us through the pandemic, but also provided unwavering support from the State of Illinois and the Decatur Township. You will truly be missed. We are forever grateful for your love and support."

Stanley also served as a Legislative Assistant for the State of Illinois.

She studied at both Southern Illinois University Carbondale and Lincoln Christian University.
