(WAND) - Two people were arrested in Menard County early Tuesday for running from police during a traffic stop.

The Menard County Sheriff's Office said a deputy tried to stop a vehicle driving with a revoked registration just after midnight Jan. 13 on IL-123 near Tice Rd.

The driver refused to pull over and instead drove off, driving through nearby farmland and county roads.

The vehicle eventually crashed after driving off the road near a private drive along Jellystone Avenue in Petersburg.

Both people inside the vehicle had run off into the woods when deputies came across it.

A thermal imaging drone and K-9 units were used to find the suspects, according to the sheriff's office. A woman, 36-year-old Annyssa Myers, was found and arrested.

The search continued for the man inside the vehicle, and he was found in a pond closeby just after 2 a.m. Sheriff's deputies pulled the man, identified as 47-year-old Caleb Prose of Girard, out of the water and performed emergency care.

He was taken to the hospital for treatment.

An investigation found that Girard had outstanding arrest warrants, including those for burglary in Putnam County, failure to appear and burglary in Montgomery County, and criminal damage in Calhoun County, Georgia.

Prose is still in custody and awaiting further charges in the county.
