SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WAND) — Sangamon County Animal Control is asking the public for information regarding a dog dead found in a cage off Interstate 55 in Springfield.
According to animal control, a dilute tri-color Cane Corso mix was found deceased inside of a black wire cage covered in plastic and attached with red tape near S 6th St Frontage Rd E & 11th St.
The dog seemed to be around 7-10 years of age. He was wearing a collar, but was not micro-chipped.
Any information that we receive will be helpful in locating the owner of this animal.
