DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) – Dogs can swim in the pool when an event for them arrives in early September.
“Wags and Waves” is scheduled for Sept. 8 at the Fairview Family Aquatic Center. Entry to the event costs $5 per dog, and each person is allowed to bring a maximum of two dogs.
Organizers say dogs must be on a leash when the event starts and rabies shots, along with proof of registration in 2018, are required.
The swim is happening in three different time slots and will start after the “Fido Scurry”, a morning 1-mile walk/run and 5K race to benefit the Decatur and Macon County Animal Shelter Foundation. People can bring their pets to the Scurry.
