Decatur, Ill (WAND) – Halloween on Thursday and now it’s Christmas season? Nobody is forgetting about Thanksgiving but people are preparing outdoor lights for Christmas while the warm weather continues.
The Decatur Area Convention and Visitors Bureau was busy working on the first day of November preparing Christmas lights and eventually the arrival of Santa later this month. Tonya Culp and Jessica Milligan were inside the Transfer House in Central Park wrapping lights into garland which will go up on the Transfer House.
They also had bags of lights ready for the IBEW to come and install them on light poles in downtown Decatur in a 10 block radius. The IBEW does the work for free as part of their community service commitments.
Santa will arrive at the Transfer House on November 30, 2024. His full schedule of appearances can be found on the Convention & Visitors Bureau Facebook page. The annual Christmas parade in downtown Decatur will step off at 4pm on December 7th.
