(WAND) — Looking to avoid long lines on Election Day? Early voting opens up this week across central Illinois.
Here's what you need to know.
Who can vote early?
The State Board of Elections says registered voters can cast ballots as soon as 40 days before the general election, which this year falls on Sept. 26. Voters can also register to vote and immediately cast ballots at designated locations.

Where can I vote early?
Early voting locations differ by county, check the list below for a county-by-county list.
Champaign
Early voting will begin on Sept. 26 at the Brookens Administrative Center Gymnasium, and will run from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Coles
Early voting will begin on Sept. 26 at the Coles County Clerk's office from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Cumberland
Early voting will begin on Sept. 26 at the Cumberland County Clerk's Office County Annex building in Toledo from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
DeWitt

Douglas
Early voting will begin on Sept. 26 and there is more information on how to register as well as polling locations by clicking here.
Effingham
Early voting will begin on Sept. 26 on the first floor of the Effingham County Building.
Ford
Early voting will begin on Sept. 26 at the Ford County Clerk's Office in Paxton from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Iroquois

Macon
Early voting will begin on Sept. 26 at the Macon County Early Voting Center, and will run from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Macoupin
Early voting will begin on Sept. 26 and ends on November 4 at the Macoupin Voting Center in Carlinville from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
McLean
Early voting will begin on Sept. 26 at Eastland Mall and the Government Center.
Menard
Early voting will begin on Sept. 26 at the County Clerk's office from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Morgan
Early voting will begin on Sept. 26 in the Morgan County Clerk's office from 8:30 a.m. to 4:40 p.m.
Montgomery
Early voting will begin on Sept. 26
Moultrie
Early voting will begin on Sept. 26 at the County Clerk's office from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Piatt
Early voting will begin on Sept. 26 at the County Clerk's office 8:30a.m. to 7 p.m.
Peoria
Early voting will begin on Sept. 26 at the Election Commission, as well as three drop box locations you can find by clicking here.
Sangamon
Early voting will begin on Sept. 26 and will begin on the first floor of the Sangamon County Complex from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Shelby
Early voting will begin on Sept. 26 in the County courthouse in Shelbyville from 8a.m. to 4 p.m.
Vermilion
Early voting will begin on Sept. 26 at the Danville Election Commission Office from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
