HERRICK, Ill. (WAND) — A man was arrested in Shelby County Saturday afternoon after police said he had over 100 grams of meth and an explosive.

According to the Shelby County Sheriff's Office, police executed a search warrant at a home near the intersection of North 3rd Street and South Myers Avenue in Herrick just before 4:30 p.m.

Police said 33-year-old Quinton D. Wallace was arrested on several charges, including possession of over 100 grams of methamphetamine with intent to deliver, unlawful possession of weapons by a felon, possession of stolen property, and possession of an explosive device.

Wallace was out on pretrial release from an August 2025 arrest for possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver and unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon, according to the sheriff's office.

A bomb squad also responded during the search and found what appeared to be a homemade explosive device.

Wallace is being held in the Shelby County Jail awaiting formal charges and a detention hearing.
