5 Things to do this weekend

DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - The weekend is upon us, and there are plenty of things to do and see across central Illinois.

Here is a selection of events, markets, concerts and more happening Friday, May 15, to Sunday, May 17. 

Cosmic Bowling 

Bowl under the black lights with glowing lanes during Cosmic Bowling at Logan Lanes in Lincoln. Enjoy a night under the disco lights with family and friends as you aim to strike up a win.

When: 10 p.m. to midnight Friday, 2-4 p.m. Saturday

Springfield Pride Fest

Come on out to Downtown Springfield to celebrate the LGBTQ+ community and equality during Pride Fest. Visit Springfield said that the event will feature over 50 vendors, live music, a Pride Parade and more. 

When: Saturday, 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Where: Downtown Springfield

Park & Play Palooza

Join the Springfield Park District for an interactive showcase of the various recreation programs it offers. Those interested can enjoy hands-on activities, ice skating, dog adoptions, a scavenger hunt and more. 

Registration is available online. 

When: Saturday, 1:30-4:30 p.m.

Where: Nelson Center Ice Rink, Springfield

Rip Roarin Extravaganza Memorial Car Show

The Rip Roarin Extravaganza Memorial Car Show will honor the legacy of Greg's Towing and Recovery, Greg Hostetler. Those who register their cars will be up for Best of Show and other prizes. Money raised will go towards Mt. Zion's first responders.

When: Saturday, 3-8 p.m.

Where: Four Star Family Restaurant, Mt. Zion

Games on the Plaza

Bring the family and relax in Downtown Champaign with Games on the Plaza. There will be jump ropes, bubbles, chalk, bubble blowers, jumbo Jenga, jumbo Connect 4 and jumbo chess for attendees to play. Live music will also begin at 2 p.m. 

When: Sunday, noon to 3 p.m.
