BLUE MOUND, Ill. (WAND) — Meridian Elementary School will relocate due to tornado damage from last month.
The school will hold classes at Stonington Elementary School for the upcoming school year.
The tornado left Meridian's classrooms unusable, forcing district leaders to find a new location.
The move is already underway, as staff pack up boxes at the old school to transport to Stonington.
Superintendent Shane Gordon said things are going exactly as planned.
"The upgrades and repairs are on track and on target," said Gordon.
