DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - Millikin University announced Wednesday that it received a $3.3 million gift, the largest scholarship commitment in the history of the College of Fine Arts.
According to the University, it will use the gift to establish the Helen Cox Kersting and Dr. Hans-Joachim Kersting Scholarship Fund.Â
Kersting graduated from Millikin's School of Music in 1956 and went on to be a renowned concert and operatic soloist.Â
MU added that her musical journey led her to the New York Philharmonic and performances at major European opera stages.
