CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WAND) - Parents and teachers shared their concerns with the Champaign School District school board Monday night as the district remains months away from selecting a new superintendent.
People came to the meeting to voice their support for former superintendent Shelia Boozer and her emphasis on diversity and academic achievement.Â
"When Dr. Boozer became superintendent, she brought to the role not only deep experience in education and leadership but also a firm commitment to equity. She has prioritized representation in our central administration, leading to the hiring of 21 minority administrators as part of her goal to make our leadership more reflective of the student body," said one attendee.
JG Consulting was hired to conduct a candidate search and will release a community survey this week before holding public forums in October and November.Â
