CLINTON - Exelon Generation officials say they have sent emergency brochures to people and businesses within 10 miles of Clinton Power Station as part of an annual emergency preparedness effort.
Each of the nearly 15,000 brochures that have been mailed includes information about general emergency preparedness, reception center locations, evacuation routes, a map, and a list of emergency broadcast stations. Additionally, each brochure contains a special needs card, that can be mailed back to Exelon officials, which outlines if a person needs special transportation or has another need.
This effort is in response to a federal law that requires nuclear operating companies to develop emergency response plans and evacuation plans. Clinton Power Station Site Vice President Ted Stoner says residents "should keep these brochures with other important documents to ensure their availability if needed."
