DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - Students at Montessori Academy got to conduct some of their own experiments with Expeditions in Education.
STEAM in the Park is part of the organization where they take nature and science from National Parks and expose students to these topics.
Students at Montessori Academy say they learned a lot during the presentation.
“It was good. I really liked when they did the ice with the dishwasher liquid. It’s showing us outside of our town because some kids can’t see outside of the town.” said Bella Wondland.
Chief Education Officer Dacia Jones or Dr. Drizzle says it's great to expose students to something bigger than what they usually see in their hometown.
“Kids don’t always have the opportunity to be in national parks so we’re trying to encourage them now to think about what their life is going to look like in the next few years.” said Jones.
