DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - The Decatur Civic Center partnered with America's Gold Star families Thursday to host the first annual Fallen Heroes Tree of Honor.
Gold Star father Sid Palmer shared the story of losing his son Logan Palmer.
Following the ceremony they hosted the lighting of the tree, and attendees were invited to hang ornaments.
Logan's mother said her son would be honored to know this was done in his honor.
