DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - A family of 5 has been displaced after a house fire on Wednesday.
According to the Argenta-Oreana Fire Department, crews responded to a report of a house fire in the cul-de-sac on Wilcar Ct. in Decatur around noon on Wednesday.
Assistant Chief Michener stated that when he arrived at the scene, heavy flames were visible coming from the garage and were rapidly spreading to the rest of the house.
Firefighters extinguished the flames and performed an overhaul before returning the property to the homeowner. Unfortunately, the house was deemed a total loss, displacing two adults and three children.
