FARMER CITY, Ill. (WAND)- Farmer City officials announced Thursday afternoon they will be closing the city pool for the season.
In a Facebook post, the city informed its residents that due to ongoing maintenance issues, the pool will remain closed for the remainder of the season. Discussions on how to move forward will be held with the community to decide its future status. All topics will be on the table: pass prices, staffing, sponsorships, selling the pool, closing the pool permanently.
City officials said that all season passes will be fully refunded next week. They are still awaiting the leak report to determine the exact location in order to fix it.
The City has plans to conduct a survey regarding residents’ tolerance for increased costs and the ability to cover those costs.
