DANVILLE, Ill. (WAND) — Police are investigating after a body was found during the demolition of a building in Danville Thursday afternoon.
The Danville Police Department said officers responded to 128 N. Walnut Street, formerly Studio 25, just after 12:30 p.m. for reports of a dead body being found.
When they arrived, police found a person who was pronounced dead at the scene. The police department said the body was discovered during demolition.
The Vermilion County Coroner's Office said it will conduct an autopsy Friday, and the identification is being withheld until the family is notified.
