RANTOUL, Ill. (WAND) - The Federal Bureau of Investigation and Rantoul police were called to investigate after a threat was made towards RISE Academy Monday.
The Rantoul Police Department and Rantoul City Schools were alerted to an online post just before 4 p.m. containing a direct threat towards RISE Academy. Within minutes, the post was removed.
The FBI and Rantoul PD was able to identify a juvenile they said made the post and interview them. They said the suspect admitted to making the post.
Police are continuing to investigate.
On Tuesday, November 4, classes resumed as normal.
This comes one day after Danville schools dismissed early due to a school shooting threat.
