ILLINOIS (WAND) – Macon County, Sangamon County and Champaign County leaders have released final early voting numbers before Election Day.
Macon County Clerk Steve Bean said there are 11,017 early ballots in the system used to count votes. He says vote-by-mail ballots will be reviewed by central county judges on Tuesday. Sangamon County voters had an even greater early presence at the polls, with over 20,900 submitted between in-person and by-mail options.
Between the three areas, the county with the most early ballots was Champaign County, with 32,454 returned out of the over 35,000 ballots requested. There were more than 4,000 ballots turned in across nine voting locations in Champaign County on Tuesday alone.
