Cold air blasts into Central Illinois after our first round of wintry weather.

Light snow will move out of the Plains late Saturday night into Sunday and bring us a taste of winter.

As temperatures warm through the 30s Sunday, the snow will become a rain and snow mix north and west and all rain south and east.

Total snow accumulations will be an inch or two across the northern and northwestern hometowns.  The rest of Central Illinois will pick up a dusting to an inch.

While not a major snow, it does fall on a big travel weekend so take it easy early Sunday.

After the snow ends, very cold air moves in early next week.

Overnight lows Sunday and Monday will drop into the teens to around 20°.   With breezy conditions, it'll feel like the single digits Monday and Tuesday mornings.
