Morton Village, IL -

A former Morton Village town official has been officially charged for driving to Mt. Zion to pay for sex.

Detectives say 61 year old Robert Wraight is now charged with two counts of official misconduct and one count of patronizing a prostitute.

Wraight was arrested last month when he allegedly arrived at Carla Johnson's home in Mt. Zion to pay for sex.

If convicted, Wraight faces up to 11 years in jail and more than $50,000 in fines. Wraight and Johnson will be arraigned later this month.

Wraight resigned his position as Village Public Works Director in March.

Police say Wraight drove 1 1/2 hours in a city vehicle to make the appointment with a woman known as "Cotton Candy."

Wraight was once named one of the top Public Works Directors in the country.
