DECATUR, Ill. (WAND)- The owner of Black Iron Coffee Company in Mt. Zion entered a plea deal on Monday. Court records show Jason Feller's charge of criminal sexual abuse was dismissed, and he instead pleaded guilty to one charge of battery. Feller was sentenced to 12 months probation and a fine.
The case was first opened on May 23, 2023. Decatur Police were notified of a previous criminal sexual abuse incident occurring at the Black Iron Coffee Company.
Officers met with, an employee of Black Iron Coffee, who advised that on May 21, 2023, while she was at the shop, her employer, Jason Feller, tried to touch her breasts.Â
In a sworn statement the victim told police she attempted to block his hands by holding her arms up to her chest and grabbing her shoulders, and hunching over. She advised that at this time Feller was behind her, reaching around, and attempting to get his hands up her shirt.
Allegedly, the victim repeatedly tried to tell Feller to stop, and after some time she was able to break free and run towards the exit.
The following day, the victim contacted Jason and his wife, who she claimed to be best friends with and gave them an ultimatum.Â
According to the sworn statement, the victim advised Jason that she would not pursue charges against him if he would allow her to kick him in the testicles. At that time Jason agreed to met the victim at his house.
When the victim arrived, Jason was no where to be found.
The victim stated it wasn't until after threatening to call law enforcement, that Jason returned to the house.
The victim admitted to kicking Jason in the testicles which caused him to regurgitate.Â
When asked why she then called law enforcement after they had made an agreement, the victim stated she wasn't satisfied and that something needs to be done to Jason since he is a serial perpetrator.
Once taken into custody Jason invoked his right to not speak without an attorney.
