ARCOLA, Ill. (WAND) —A grain bin collapsed in Arcola Thursday night.
The Arcola Fire District advises that drivers avoid the intersection of IL-133 & US-45.
The News Gazette reports Sabrina Burkiewicz, external communications manager for Growmark, Inc., told them a bin located on property at the intersection of Illinois 133 and U.S. 45 collapsed.
No injuries were reported. The cause of the collapse has not been determined.
The News Gazette reports structural engineers and local authorities were on site Friday morning.
Burkiewicz told the News Gazette that heavy equipment will remove the grain on the ground, "but engineers must proceed carefully with cleaning up the damaged bins, as they are connected to other bins on-site."
